welcome to our newest team member
We are thrilled to announce that Kelcey Combs has joined the American Carp Society Team. Kelcey will be in charge of Public Relations and Media Coordination for the organization and brings 12 years of public relations experience to the table. She has already begun forging relationships with media outlets and fishing organizations across the USA with public outreach…more of this in weeks to come. There’s a new BAIT in the works…
Psst….The Barnaby’s Revenge range of baits will be expanding…Select Angler’s have been testing a new bait and concept that has been developed for our U.S wild waters over this last year. After months of R&D in both lakes and rivers, in multiple States, the newest bait in the ‘Barnaby’s Revenge’ bait range will soon be here…and we are very pleased with the results . With some stunning captures already documented, this bait will soon be recognized as a natural food source in any water. A very unique bait with a High Protein / Amino mix combination and a flavor that carp love, which has not previously been used here in the USA. You can expect MANDALA GOLD to hit the store early next year…. our 2020 Membership renewals from October onwards will also contain samples of the new bait before it’s released to the public….stay tuned!
ACs IS helping to improve the south plAtTE river
The American Carp Society is partnering with the Denver Trout Unlimited Team to help raise money for environmental improvements to the Denver South Platte River system. Known for their annual ‘CARP SLAM’ fly tournament, the team at DTU have always done a stellar job with the promotion of our beloved species. We are now asking all of our members to step and help the cause! Donations will go to restore the health and habitat of the river as well as support educational programs for the local community and fishing public.
The Denver TU team shares our values and appreciation for trophy carp and it is our pleasure to assist them in their goals to create a healthy ecosystem and to advance carp angling interest in Colorado.
The American Carp Society will be making it’s own donation, and we are asking ALL OF OUR MEMBERS TO HELP and make their own contribution to this worthy conservation cause that will benefit carp and anglers for years to come.
**Just $5 or $10 will go into helping the cause and the fish that we all know and love so much - PLEASE SUPPORT US IN THIS VENTURE - We know that times are tough right now for everyone and so every little contribution helps. This is an annual event that The American Carp Society will be supporting in any way we can!
Your contribution is also a tax deduction.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR HELPING!!

bass blocked
By: Brandon Tourigny
Spend enough time on the water fly fishing for carp, and you’re guaranteed to have a few misses. Be it a botched cast, spooked fish, or just a plain old refused fly, it’s in the nature of carp fishing to fail more succeed. No matter the reason for a miss a successful fly angler should learn as much as he can from any encounter with carp. That said, I think it’s important to laugh a little too. We love to carp fish because it’s fun, and part of the fun is laughing at the mishaps along the way!
Recently I have learned that not every missed carp is an angler’s fault though. Twice this season I have been what I like to call, “bass blocked.” On both occasions I had spotted a heavily feeding carp which allowed me to sneak in and make my cast. As the fly was about to hit the river bottom the carp detected movement and went in for the eat! But… at the last second a smallmouth came out from around the carp and snatched the fly away.
Now I am as much a fan of smallmouth as the next guy, but when a big carp is about to eat they aren’t exactly at the top of my mind. I landed the bass in both instances and had to watch my carp swim off. I got a good laugh out of the odd way in which I missed the carp and carried on with my day,
Regardless of why you may miss a carp persevering through those misses will guarantee you another shot a carp, and remember to laugh a little while you’re at it!

one shot - liquid booster - coming soon!
The American Carp Society's - ONE SHOT - LIQUID BOOSTER.... A high level liquid food attractant for Large Carp that has been tested across the USA.
Formulated by our bait development team here in the USA, the ‘One Shot’ liquid booster has been designed specifically with the US Carp Angler in mind having a multitude of uses. Containing oils, tiger nut particles, ‘Asterbury Creme’ flavoring and other essential ingredients, it is a versatile product that goes a very long way in it’s usage.…it is strong!
The required amount of liquid booster to use for each purpose will vary and so we designed the 500ML ‘One Shot’ container to include a built-in 30 ML measuring chamber, allowing you to accurately add the pre-measured amount of liquid booster to the chamber for your intended use as a boilie boost, method or spod mix boost or as a traditional glug, ensuring that you don’t use more of the product than you actually need to for any given situation.
A good coating of ‘One-Shot’ will boost your boilies and hook baits, leaking oils and flavor into the swim immediately when introduced through the water column.
The ‘One Shot’ liquid is PVA friendly and can be used to great effect in conjunction with ‘The Crumb’ in a stick mix or PVA bag helping to cloud up the water in the swim after breakdown, attracting fish immediately into the vicinity through the flavor disbursement.
When used with a method mix, the ‘One Shot’ can also help as a binder because of its properties and also leave a nice ‘slick’ on the surface when entering the water. As the method mix breaks down it releases more of the attractants, oils and flavoring into the swim.
The ‘One Shot’ liquid booster can also be used as a traditional ‘glug’ for your boilies; for hook-baits we like to add a 15ml boost to a pop up tub or tub of bottom baits coating all of them… shake well and leave for a few days before use.
